SoRetro Straps

Hi!! My company, SoRetro Straps, was created out of a love of vintage bag, camera, and guitar straps. Each of the fabrics and webbing are all hand-selected, sewn and then hand-assembled with complementary hardware and clasps. I hand cut, hand stamp, and hand rivet and eyelet all of my leather ends, (typically late at night, in my garage, when all my other work is done for the day!) which is truly a labor of love. I offer custom embroidery on all made to order straps, to give it an additional layer of personalization!

Due to the popular request of custom straps, and out of necessity, because I always seem to run out, despite always bringing a boatload of inventory, I prefer to sew on-site and create custom order, made to order straps at my larger/multi-day events. For smaller events, I just try to bring enough inventory and variety to satisfy everyone's desires!

My company name was derived from my last name, which is Soret, and when it clicked, it was just perfect! Soret = SoRetro

My SoRetro Straps are reminiscent of vintage style goods that many of us know and love from our childhoods; my dad had a cool, old camera strap that I was eager to replicate, but those vintage ones aren't really up to speed to carry our modern day SLRs! My SoRetro Straps have been designed with those old styles in mind, but they are sturdy, useful, practical, gorgeous, and very comfortable too. They are all adjustable up to just over 5ft (60+ inches!) which is really ideal for crossbody wearing, even for larger and taller people. And, since they have sturdy clasps, they can be switched from bag to camera to another bag!

I also design and manufacture guitar straps, which are made with durable leather ends, and are a gorgeous addition to any guitar or bass.

I have actually been told that I was almost denied for other markets, due to my branding and packaging looking like that of a buy/sell product, however, with my other business being in the print and graphic design industry, I've had a great advantage to be able to design, print, and manufacture all of my packaging, marketing materials, business cards, backdrops, booth displays, and even build my own website.
