The Farmers Market Coalition(FMC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to strengthening farmers markets across the United States so that they can serve as community assets while providing real income opportunities for farmers.
FMC is driven by three complementary goals; we call it our triple bottom line. Farmers earn fair prices for the fruits of their labor by selling directly to consumers. Consumers gain access to fresh, nutritious, local produce. Communities regain a figurative “town square,” experiencing the many positive outcomes of foot traffic and animated public space.
Farmers Market Metrics (FMM) is a data collection website that turns the daily operational data of a market into insightful and actionable metrics that can be shared across social media or used for promotion and reporting. FMC has partnered with Farmspread to capitalize on the primary area of vendor-based data collection at a market - vendor applications. Vendor data provides a wealth of information about the economic, ecological, and educational impacts of your market. Simple, templated at-market data collection procedures such as visitor counts and surveys can round out your data collection, and speak to the impacts you have on your community. Best of all, any data you input into Farmspread will automatically be written to your FMM account. Enter data once, get twice the benefit!
