Chiveflower Designs Artist Statement and Bio

I am Ruth Sangree of Chiveflower Designs. This name came to me some time ago when I casually observed the natural beauty chives display when flowering in the spring. Their lavender globe of petals standing tall against the many stripes of green 'chive' leaves always reminds me that summer is coming!

I create unique and reasonably priced jewelry pieces,, incorporating naturally found items such as river and beach stones, birch bark, sea glass, and acorns, as well as many types of semi-precious gemstones and sterling silver, copper, and brass findings.

I live in Ashford, CT with my family. Aside from creating my pieces, I love to garden, grow berries, and teach fourth graders during the school year! I participate in various shows in Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and in Connecticut, where I live. The 2019 season marks my 15th year creating jewelry pieces and vending in several New England local shows.
