About

The land is mostly planted into perennial mixed pasture where we rotationally graze the sheep throughout the year and rotate the hens during the 8 warmer month. We also continue planting more trees throughout the pasture to provide the hens and sheep with shade, fruit, tree fodder, and other mast to augment and diversify their diets. Managing the animals on the land over the years boosted the natural fertility of our soil allowing us to eliminate the need for some fertilizers and significantly reduce the need for the remaining nutrients.

Purpose *To raise nutritious and healthy food for ourselves and to market the same while practicing environmentally regenerative growing methods.

Production Practices

Pastured Free Range

Eichorn Family Farm chickens are raised on pasture for the 8 warmer months and free range/cage free during the 4 cold months. The chickens eat Certified Organic feed and greens and insects from their pasture. The lamb is pasture raised. Less than 5% of their nutrition comes from grains and no grains are fed for the last several months. The vegetables are the extras from Delilah's garden.
