'Ono Loa Cookie

Aloha! I’m Jen, founder of 'Ono Loa Cookie. I’m passionate about pursuing dreams, following intuition, sustaining optimism, challenging my limits, practicing healthy eating, and treating myself to sweet indulgences; its all about balance.

In 2015 I completed a half ironman – a taxing challenge both mentally and physically, but one of the most rewarding experiences I have. I would encourage anyone to take on the challenge, register for a race and share the experience with your fellow racers; it’s amazing what your mind and body can do!

I have a long-standing passion for all things Hawaii. In the early 90s, my dearest friend moved to Hawaii and asked me to come out for a visit; instead I bought a one-way ticket. It is the most beautiful place I have seen! It brought a sense of peace and happiness to me that I had never felt. My stay was short due to economical reasons, and I found myself back on the mainland a few months later.

Many years later I met my spouse and we decide to get married in Hawaii. I can’t describe how happy I was to be back there – it was like coming home. For the last 10 years we have been going back to the islands religiously. Each year we find some delicious treat that I am determined to create. One year I fell in love with the short bread cookies – if you’ve been to Hawaii you know what I’m talking about.

I finally created a recipe that rivaled the famous cookie. I've become fond of my cookie, not just because I created it, but because it is natural and whole. I hand picked the ingredients, I can taste the sweet cream butter, I can savor the toasted coconut bits, and it is not eternally preserved, which means it is better for my body. This one discovery lead to 'Ono Loa Cookie! All my sweet treats are made with natural, wholesome ingredients and aim to please the palate!
