About

Lüfka produces simple, healthy, handcrafted bath and body products with ingredients and beauty secrets from the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia which is modern-day Turkey, Syria, and Iraq. All of our natural bath and body products are perfect companions with our Lüfka Willow Bark Exfoliating Washcloths to support our company's belief in self care and making every shower like a trip to the spa with natural, simple, and environmentally-friendly products. We handcraft our fluoride-free charcoal fresh and minty fresh natural toothpastes with only 6 natural ingredients and foaming sugar and salt body scrubs with only 5 natural ingredients. Our Lüfka Exfoliating Willow Bark Washcloths are handmade by artisans in Iraq. We have a USPTO Provisional Utility Patent for our Lüfka Exfoliating Willow Bark Washcloths.

Production Practices

Non Gmo Holistic Management

Our company’s passion is to provide our customers with a plastic-free and environmentally friendly alternative to plastic bath sponges that fill landfills and remain on our Earth forever. Our lüfkas only contain Babylonian willow bark fibers from Babylonian Weeping Willow trees. The branches are trimmed, hung to dry in the hot Mesopotamian sun, and stripped into long, thin fibers. These fibers are then placed in a loom and woven back and forth to produce our beautiful, diamond-shaped lüfkas.

We are a husband and wife team who share a passion for helping our beloved Kurdistan and want to share the products and beauty secrets from this region with the people of the United States. Our mission is to provide our customers with sustainable and environmentally-friendly products that are good for our bodies and the environment. My husband and I share a passion for finding ways to preserve the ancient culture and heritage of Kurdistan by sharing their ancient handmade products and beauty secrets with the world.

Parosh and I initially wanted to open a charity to help refugees and people who have been displaced by the conflict in Syria and Iraq, but we quickly realized that charitable assistance is not sustainable over the long term. Instead of holding out their hands for charity, our artisans are using their hands to help themselves by creating products that will change the way Americans take a shower.

Our sustainable development mission is to be able to employ as many people as possible and pay them a living wage. Our initiative will have a ripple effect in our employees’ communities as well as in the region. By purchasing lüfkas, we are able to give these devastated people hope for a new future. Lüfkas are not only beneficial for our bodies and the environment, but they are also beneficial for our souls.
