About

Copper, Silver and a bit of Glass! I love to create jewelry using copper, silver and various forms of silica (glass) as in stained glass, Swarovski crystal, Czech crystal, lamp work beads and anything else organic that catches my eye. My copper jewelry is a mixture of pendants, bracelets and earrings, all hand textured, shaped, tumbled, flame colored and then sealed with jewelers enamel to avoid allergic reactions. I use PMC (precious metal clay) in fine (.999) and Sterling (.960 & .925) in creating pendants, earrings, and bracelets. I repurpose wine and spirit bottles into candle holders using stained glass, found objects, beads and resin. I am constantly experimenting with copper and silver. After all, these are among the first metals worked by humans. The Egyptians built the pyramids and obelisks using copper tools and dolomite (a very hard stone)! And glass? Everyone needs a bit of bling!

My first love is lapidary (rocks). I clearly recall polishing a piece of tiger eye on a flat lap machine at the Rock Hobby Shop on Yokota AFB, Japan. This was in the mid 1960's. In college I worked with clay and copper enameling. Within the past five years I've been able to do more lapidary, taken classes in silver smithing, copper, precious metal clay and stained glass. I get inspiration from ancient artists (Egypt and Celtic, in particular) and from the nature in my back yard.
