Herbal Salves and Balms

I made salves and balms before I ever made soap. Growing herbs since 1988, I experimented with culinary, tea, and medicinal herbs. I enjoy getting the same results as commercial products yet using all natural and herbal products.
Calendula salve is made using calendula petals grown in my own yard infused in organic high oleic sunflower oil. Added to that is aloe butter for skin irritations, beeswax for ease of application, and jojoba for a longer shelf life. I first made this for diaper rash. It was discovered that this makes a great first aid salve.
Comfrey balm is made using comfrey root and leaf, spice bush berries, and meadowsweet flower and leaf infused in organic virgin olive oil. Shea butter is added to increase the balm's effectiveness to pain, as well as emu oil. Hemp seed oil improves the condition of skin, while jojoba (shea butter and emu oil) help the balm to penetrate deeply. Essential oils of eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary camphor, and white camphor are added to encourage painlessness.
Menthol balm is made using peppermint and eucalyptus infused in organic virgin olive oil. Shea butter is used to help with penetration and painlessness. Bees wax is used for ease of application. Menthol crystals are added for that powerful scent inhalation sensation, and essential oils of eucalyptus, white camphor, rosemary camphor, and peppermint help open the sinuses.
Bug n Sun is a lotion bar that helps with sun protection and pest control. Over 50% is unrefined shea butter with coconut oil and bees wax. Added to that is zinc oxide for sun protection and an essential oil blend that repels many varying diverse insects.
