About

Local Color Farm is the result of a long standing dream: returning to our roots and building a home of our own. We are a fledgling flower and poultry farm in Central Michigan, just outside of Mt. Pleasant. We also sell a number of products, grown and produced right here on the farm; check with us for seasonal availability. Check back often as our product line grows along with us and our farming operation.

Local Color Farm is owned, managed, and farmed by Miranda Ley with part time help from her husband, Everett Bradshaw.

Production Practices

Local Color Farm employs no-till inspired techniques of cultivation for our flowers. No-till is a form of regenerative agriculture that focuses on building existing soil by leaving it as undisturbed as possible to maintain the soil biology and structure. This results in healthy soil that is more resilient to weather, pests, and drought with fewer inputs. Healthy soil means healthier plants.

As the child of a midwestern farming family, it has always been my dream to return to the land and grow wonderful things. After years of living in Houston, Texas, we made this dream a reality by buying 10 acres in Union Township. We grow flowers, some produce, ducks, and chickens, but the primary focus of the business is locally grown specialty cut flowers.
