Our products are made here in Columbia, in an a commercial home kitchen. Our ingredients are not only organic, but acquired as close-to-home as possible, such that at least fifty percent, by weight, of each of our products consists of ingredients grown in the US, including eggs from Share Life Farms in Marshall, Missouri. Because we make a similar effort to purchase equipment locally, we can also say, happily, that better than eighty percent of our kitchen and market equipment was made in the US, including our wooden display trays, made for us of reclaimed pine in Pennsylvania; our commercial convection oven, and wide variety of other kitchen tools from Vollrath, made in Wisconsin; our steel market tables, made by Pit Pal Products in Illinois; and our massive collection of glass storage jars, from Arkansas Glass Container - in Arkansas. In fact - except for the handful involved in payment processing, like Visa and Square - we do no business with any of the companies on the Forbes list of the world's 2000 largest, not even Amazon, Google or Facebook.Perhaps the most-important aspect of responsible operation - arguably, the only aspect - is the minimization of waste. Therefore, Scott's operates as a no-waste business, meaning that we produce no garbage - not even food waste. We're able to avoid it by donating un-sold items, scrupulous recycling and composting, and not using disposable items in-house, although we do sell various things in recyclable, compostable, single-use packages. Our ingredients include no milk products, soy products, or nuts, and so our kitchen is entirely-free of these things, as-such. However, not all of our ingredients are guaranteed by the producers to be free of the traces of these things that can be introduced to a product by processing it with mixed-purpose equipment. We're working toward a guarantee of safety on this point, but, in the meantime - and in any event - it would be wise for anyone with a known allergy to take the necessary precautions.
