Barberries are a dried berry that come from a big spike bush. The berries are known for it's high berberin which helps lower your blood sugar and can prevent diabetes. The berries are also grown in Chelan, WA.

The berries have a tart taste, similar to cranberries or goji berries.

The berries can be mixed into your saffron rice or pretty much anything. Salats, cereal, yogurts, oatmeal, trail mix, granola and even baking. You can also brew a delicious tea out of them.
