About

Enchanting Acres is a second generation family runned farm. Although, Enchanting Acres, has just arisen this year, it has served as both a vegetable garden and home for 13 sheep for 20 years. Jim and Deborah's granddaughter, Kyra Barnard, has come on board to manage and sprout this land into Enchanting Acres: a vegetable, mushroom and flower farm. We utilize organic (non-certified) practices, restoration of the soil, as the center of our growing operations. Bringing nutritionally dense and organically (non-certified) farm food to the local community is at the forefront of Enchanting Acres Mission. As farmers, we want to centralize education around nutrition and aid in bringing food access, justice, and food sovereignty to Columbians and surrounding neighborhoods.

Production Practices

Permaculture is a system of growing that aims to mimics the way that nature naturally produces food. It abides by the concept of doing more good by being stewards of the land. This entails practices of restoring the soil by nitrogen fixing plants, promoting and facilitating bio-diversity of plants, insects, and pollinators. Permaculture partial mission is withholding the use of chemical based fertilizers and pesticides that pollute our soil and the environment.
