electroforming
Louise Mcilhon
I use semi-precious stones, fossils, and organic materials such as real cicadas and other insects to create one-of-a-kind necklaces, wire-wrapped pendants, rings, bracelets, and earrings. My new line of jewelry employs copper electroforming where a low voltage electrical charge is passed through an acid bath to deposit copper onto a carefully crafted art piece of organic materials, shells, and crystals that is suspended in the bath. This heavy deposit of copper creates durable wearable art.
