I have been working with clay for 3 years now, and am excited and grateful to finally put a business name behind my work. Loyal Moon Pottery is a collection of hand-built, sgraffito-style pottery that is inspirited by both the wild and whimsical. Nature being my fondest inspiration, I carve stories into clay bodies that range from wolves howling at the moon, to imagery reflective of ancient African art. My work consists of predominantly functional ware, including mugs, jars, platters, spoon rests, vases. I also create boxes that can be used for trinkets, magnets, and phone speakers.

I have lived in the Richmond area nearly all my life and it has been an incredible experience finding my life's purpose and passion while residing in a flourishing city. I have always been intrigued by "creating," in some form. I have worked in the craft beer community for 8 years, and have worn many hats throughout my experience, including bartending, brewing, managing, and coordinating marketing and events. Three years ago, I took a ceramics class at the Visual Arts Center in an effort to explore a new hobby, and it was that decision that led me to a whole new world of creativity and passion. I still work as a bartender at The Answer Brewpub, but have shifted my focus to forming my own pottery business.
