Fern Hill Apiary is locally-owned and family-operated. Hobbyist beekeepers, we have been keeping bees on our property in Marshall, VA since Spring 2004. Starting with just 3 hives, we now maintain 15-20 colonies primarily at our residence in Marshall, Fauquier County.
All of our products are produced solely by our bees unless expressly noted. A true family affair, we take great care and pride in the care of our bees (without the use of chemical miticides) as well as the preparation & presentation of the products we offer.

Production Practices
Integrated Pest Management Holistic Management
The management of our property as well as our bees is done in as environmentally-friendly manner as possible. We tend to our colonies without the use of chemicals, opting for less invasive means of pest management within the hives. Our honey harvesting is done once per year and involves removing the honey from the frames in a centrifuge, then collected and filtered through three stages to remove wax bits leaving just the raw golden wildflower honey. This is then bottled and labeled for the consumer.
