Sholeh Zard

Sholeh Zard , literally means yellow flame. The roots of this dessert are unknown, but Persian have been making it for many years. Sholeh zard is generally shared with friends, family and neighbours as means of keeping vows to the higher powers. This is a slowly cooked, creamy rice dessert that combines the flavors of saffron, almonds and pistachios.
