I'm a Minnesota native turned Florida seashell addict, now making mixed media art, home accents, and jewelry out of my abundant collection of shells and relics. I find inspiration from the sea in anything that is particularly colorful, small, large, old, weathered, perfect, broken, or just plain cool looking. The vast majority of my shells are scooped up at our favorite local beach in Florida, Pass a Grille. Catch me and my hubby there weekly, getting our much needed dose of Vitamin Sea!

Beyond finding the winners, I treat all my shells to eliminate smell and to enhance and brighten colors whenever possible. I do this by a combination of methods including soaks in bleach water, dips in muriatic acid solution, and rubbing with mineral oil. I also drill and assemble all of my jewelry by hand, and have lots of OCD fun sorting through piles and piles of shells looking for matches!

After every shelling trip I enjoy documenting my finds and capturing them in an artfully arranged collage image. I got such positive feedback on these colorful images that they're now available for purchase printed onto all sorts of items such as zippered pouches, tote bags, stickers, greeting cards, pillows and more, all printed with my original shell images.
