About

Wildflour Bakerie bakes fresh cookies for mail order and local delivery. A "Cookie of the Week" is announced each Monday (Sunday for the mailing list) and customers have until Friday to place their orders. The weekend is for baking and the process starts anew the following Monday. I am not a decorator. I don't know the first thing about how to make something beautiful. But I know great flavors; I know how to make something taste good.
Wildflour Bakerie cookies are rustic, large, some frosted, some stuffed, some sandwiched. They're the cookies you wish your mom would bake as a kid, with a grownup flair. Examples include massive almondey sugar cookie sandwiches with handmade vanilla buttercream in between; the Curious George cookie, which is a chewy, pan-banging peanut butter cookie with real chopped peanuts, handmade banana buttercream on top (no extracts or artificial flavorings!), and dark chocolate mini's on top; and 1/2 lb Pistachio, Cranberry and White Chocolate-Stuffed Cookies, golden brown on the outside, molten on the inside studded with the colors of Christmas.
The name Wildflour Bakerie comes from one of my favorite literary quotes, pulled from Maud Martha by Gwendolyn Brooks, where she likens herself to a dandelion. "But dandelions were what she chiefly saw. Yellow jewels for everyday studding the patched green dress of her back yard. She liked their demure prettiness second to their everydayness; for in that latter quality she thought she saw a picture of herself, and it was comforting to find that what was common could also be a flower."
Wildflour Bakerie cookies are jewels for every day.
