Cosmos Roastery is a veteran-owned and -operated specialty coffee roaster based in Rockville, MD and focused on social and environmental sustainability. We roast our carefully sourced single origin and microregion coffees with 100% renewable energy and use fully compostable packaging. We're currently a cottage food business but will be transitioning to a commercial kitchen by November this year. Cosmos is also a member of Bethesda Green's business incubator program (https://bethesdagreen.org/be-green-business/innovation-lab/portfolio-companies/cosmos-roastery/).

So far it's just me! I'm transitioning from 11 years as an Air Force officer to running Cosmos full time (beginning 1 October 2021). I established the company in January, began selling direct to customer online in August, and am now very happy to be beginning several farmers' markets. Not very relevant to coffee, but I have a BA in German from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MA in Security Studies from Georgetown University.
