About

Eastside Mud Slingers is a consortium of experienced artists who all make their work in the Education Studio at Detroit’s historic Pewabic Pottery. The artists draw upon varied art backgrounds including painting, graphic arts and photography before exploring the clay medium. Experience in clay ranges from from 4 to 40 years. Their combined experience outside of the arts includes business management, education and non-profit arts management. Eastside Mud Slingers evolved from sharing Pewabic’s Education studio to sales outlets including a self-generated sale in September 2017. From there the group has searched for sales outlets that would be a good fit for our group. Participants include: Aislinn Scofield; Michelle Segue; Harry Swanson, Joan Smykowski and Rosi Triano.
