About

We make local, fresh Argentine Chimichurri inspired by our family's roots. Our traditional 'Mom's Green' chimichurri is the bright and herby finishing sauce that we grew up with and served table side at gatherings. Building community and sharing food and culture is what we are all about. We are passionate about bringing those delicious South American flavors to your table.
Our 'Spicy Red' Chimi is flavored with chilis grown in the Andes of South America and combined with traditional fresh ingredients. The smoky, savory Chimi combines the Latin flavors we grow up with into a rich sauce that transforms any meal. We use locally sourced farm fresh ingredients to deliver the same authentic taste Mom made. We believe in using quality ingredients and the commitment to supporting our local agriculture and underrepresented partnering businesses whenever possible. Every small batch is made with our community in mind and free of preservatives or sugar. We want our condiment to be enjoyed fresh as intended and the "everything sauce' you cant live without!

My name is Jessica and I am the founder of La Porteña. In Argentina 'Porteños' are what you lovingly call someone from Buenos Aires but also pertains to anyone living in a "Port' city like our beautiful Portland, OR. As first generation Argentine immigrants, my family has always built community through the food we share. My Dad's famous Asados (BBQs) and Mom's chimichurri was a way to share our traditions and delicious dishes with new friends. Caring with me the, 'food is love' philosophy my parents instilled, it has always been my passion to share our family recipes and traditions at a larger scale. Working in the service and food industry I learned how special and informed the food culture here in Portland was but always found South American flavors to be lacking in our increasingly diverse local cuisine. I set out to see that those delicious spices and flavors are better represented and worked on bringing our chimichurri to market. With the help of organizations like Portland Mercado, Prosper Portland, GYRM and the food innovation center and an amazing product La Porteña chimichurri was born in May of last year!
