About

the bohemian shepherdess is a farm grown apothecary dedicated to growing and crafting nutrient dense skincare. Our farm is located in Venus, Texas. Seeking to be as natural as possible, we choose not use fragrance oils, artificial colors or plastic packaging. We are always striving for sustainability.

the bohemian shepherdess line is rooted in the idea that the most luxurious and nourishing products can only come from the finest of ingredients. Not willing to settle for anything but the best, the maker decided to grow her own botanicals, raise her own goats for her goat milk soaps, and formulate all of her nutrient dense recipes based off of her knowledge of herbalism and love of science.

With a love for Texas and its farmers, she sought out like minded farms to provide ingredients she did not produce.

Going a step further she combined these glorious raw ingredients with the richest oils and butters. Then, in keeping with sustainability, she only uses glass and paperboard packaging to hold the final products.

Meticulously crafted with love and passion on Rosemary Hollow Farm since 2015.

Production Practices

Non Gmo Crop Rotation Perennial Crops Cover Crops No Till Holistic Management Pastured

Our apothecary is built around plants we grow on our farm. We grow a variety of perennial and annual crops and keep dairy goats. Our dairy goats diet mainly consists of grazing on wild native plants. Daily I shepherd them through the open prairie and woods that surround our small farm. As a result, their milk is exceptionally rich and loaded with nutrients. We are passionate about sourcing non-gmo seeds. Grain that is fed to the does in lactation is of the highest quality and is always non-gmo. Our goats are raised in a holistic manner focused on keeping them as healthy as possible. Concerning soil health; we use a no-till method and try to produce as much of our own compost. Between main season crops we use cover-crops and green-manure crops. We love to grow plants for pollinators. Crop rotation is especially important. I spend an extensive amount at the beginning of each year planning out each bed being very mindful of what was grown in it over the past two years.
