About

I am a wanderer, creator, and artist. I have know since childhood I belonged to the beaches and the seas; they own me, I do not own them. I am grateful for every sunrise and sunset because each exposes an entirely new beach experience. For me, paddle boarding or kayaking through mangroves and around sandbars provides hours in which time doesn't exist. With such beauty, serenity and tranquility, I find my center...my soul...
I am, "The Beachcomber". Taking in the surf , talking to everyone, listening to their stories, experiences, and sharing our finds. I enjoy sharing with children, teens, college students, parents, and grandparents; people from all walks of life, from all over the world. They teach me, and I them-an extraordinary sharing between generations and cultures. I learn something new with each excursion. My greatest joy is teaching children about the sea and it's creatures. The children are the future. I enjoy building their imaginations and fascination for what the seas have yet to reveal to them; each beach has story to tell.
My art is a labor of love for you to enjoy, particularly on those days you just can't make it to the beach! My goal is to share my knowledge and passion for our earth and seas, while touching the hearts of those interested in learning.
These are not just shells, they were a creature's home. When I pick up a shell I think, "What is this, what's its name, who lived here?" These are important questions and enable us to conceptualize their beauty and continue to grow in our appreciation of the bounty and wonder of our seas.
Most stores sell all-white shells: there is no reason to bleach the shell of its colors or take live shells. Patience, months of cleaning, drying, and curing, sometimes in shade and other times in bright sunlight are the means to bring back the shell's true beauty. I takes time, effort, and love to restore this shell, sponge, or creature back to what is was intended to be--natural.
Each piece has the identification of the contents in the frame, so you may do more research. I hope you enjoy my art from nature...
