About

Chestnut Ridge Farms is located in beautiful Highland County, Virginia. It is owned and operated by the Montgomery family. John Montgomery grew up spending time on his grandfather’s farm in the mountains of southwest Virginia. Diane grew up in rural Florida. Our interest in farming is based in these early experiences. We believe in natural and sustainable small farming practices and in raising healthy food for our family and the local community. This is truly a family farm. All family members from the youngest to the oldest are involved in the process.

Production Practices

Our pasture-raised Angus beef has received rave reviews from customers. Our cows roam freely on 180 acres of farmland. We want our animals to have healthy pasture for all their nutritional needs and supplement only as needed. We use soy-free, non-GMO, organic supplements, Redmond cattle salt, and Thorvin Icelandic Kelp. Please visit www.newcountryorganics.com for more information on these supplements.

We are proud to be one of the few farms that produce pasture-raised pork. Our pigs are allowed to roam and forage within a large area of several acres, and, like our cows, they are never confined. We feed them only the highest quality organic, non-GMO feed to ensure both the healthfulness and excellent flavor of the pork.

All our meat is USDA inspected.
