SunReady, LLC is a social enterprise launched two years ago to sell sun protective hats (UPF50+) and provide education materials on skin cancer prevention. SunReady donates 5% of each hat sale to the Melanoma Cancer Research Foundation on a monthly basis. In 2019, The Skin Cancer Foundation estimates that there will be 192, 310 new cases of melanoma in the United States making it the fifth most common cancer for both men and women, skin cancer prevention needs to become part of everyone's daily routine regardless of age. One relatively easy preventative measure is wearing a sun protective hat. SunReady offers a wide variety of sun protective hats for all ages priced from $14 to $30.

A former non profit executive, my husband Jeffrey and I officially relocated to southwest Florida five years ago. With lots of unscheduled time, I volunteered at several organizations while working very part time . At about the same time, I lost a very dear friend unnecessarily to melanoma. I started doing research and realized that although great strides had been made in treatment, a high percentage of cases could be prevented by protecting ones self by wearing protective clothing and awareness education. Thus, SunReady, LLC was "born" . During the past 2-3 years, we have sold thousands of hats and shared important information on skin cancer prevention at area farmer's markets, festivals and special events.
