About
I have been gardening for over 7 years at my home in Cornelius and decided to start Le Petit Jardin in 2019. I grew up in Ohio and was surrounded by farmers in my family. I guess you could say I was born with a green thumb. When my son was born in 2008 and really become obsessed in getting organic food both from the local farmers and growing some myself. It is obsession to grow the most healthy food possible for myself, family and community.

Production Practices
Use Only Organic Materials Extended Growing Season Holistic Management Crop Rotation No Till Cover Crops
I practice 100% organic farming using a no till method for the soil. The microgreens are grown by using all organic sources. The seeds are all certified organic from Mumms Seeds in Canada and True leaf Seeds in Utah. I use a certified organic Pro Mix MP soil as the base for growing the microgreens. I bottom water to minimize any adverse affects of getting any issues on the microgreens. I use filtered water to help with the health of the plants. I use plant based containers for all my microgreens, which are 100% compostable. They are made from annually renewable plants like wheat, sugarcane and corn from World Centric out of California.

I originally grew up in Ohio and moved to Oregon in 2001. I am a Navy veteran and have a BA Degree in Education/Music. I have been working in finance for the past 15 years, but have decided to leave that career to focus on farming. I am married to the love of my life for 14 years and have a wonderful son. Growing food is my passion and taking the leap to do it full time has been a lot of fun.
