Eskimo Girl Salmon

I am an Yupik Eskimo girl from Togiak, Alaska. My family has survived on fishing for generations. My family has fished commercially since commercial fishing began in Bristol Bay. My grampa Willie Coupchiak fished from a sailboat. Fishing is in my blood. I want to share this amazing resource with others so I sell some of our catch directly to people after every season. These fish are all wild caught and the fishery is managed for sustainability. Bristol Bay has the largest run of sockeye salmon in the world! We bleed every fish and chill them in refrigerated sea water immediately upon catching them. We then take them to a small processor who fillets, vacuum seals, and blast freezes them.
