Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association (PCFMA) creates community-based food experiences throughout the San Francisco Bay Area that support California family farms and a healthy local food system. Our mission is to empower California farmers to be enormously successful in Bay Area communities. You'll see us pursuing our mission every time you shop at one of our farmers' markets where local farms gather to sell their delicious products. Supporting California farmers is at the center of everything we do. PCFMA creates economic opportunities for them through thriving Certified Farmers’ Markets. PCFMA works exclusively with California farmers and only California-grown produce is sold at our Certified Farmers’ Markets. We’re also happy to help local food artisans take advantage of our vibrant markets to sell their unique products directly to consumers. PCFMA directly supports over 275 California farmers and nearly 300 food artisans in its 50-plus weekly markets. Founded in 1988, PCFMA is the largest organization of its kind on the West Coast and oldest in the country. PCFMA also strives to be one of the most innovative farmers’ market operators in the nation with an active multi-channel marketing effort that reaches over 600,000 Bay Area residents monthly. PCFMA has also developed state-of-the-art systems for tracking farmers’ market activity and supporting over $450,000 of annual sales by farmers to customers using federal nutrition benefits (SNAP, known as CalFresh in California) that are matched through the Market Match program.
