Farmers Market

About

The Town of Dumfries is excited to host a Saturday farmers market, from 8am-12pm. The market season will run April through the last Saturday before Thanksgiving. We look forward to bringing together the best local growers and artisans around to offer the Dumfries Community access to the freshest locally grown at an affordable price! Dumfries Farmers Market is strictly producer-only, meaning that all farmers and food artisans must grow or make from scratch everything they bring to market. We plan to start with a wonderful assortment of fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, baked goods, ready to eat foods, and more. As the market grows, so will the number of participating vendors. We look forward to seeing you out at the market!

Additional Location Information:

The space accommodates up to 40+ vendors and their vehicles, plus ample convenient customer parking. Graham Park is a main thoroughfare in Dumfries, minutes from Route 1 in Prince William County (a couple minutes from 95). The next closest farmers markets are 20 minutes in either direction, and the desire for a market has been expressed by the community, so we are confident the market will be a success! There is excellent visibility from the main road, with hundreds of families living in the neighborhoods surrounding the market, many within walking distance. The market is in the heart of the community right next to a park and a mile from the middle school.

The Town of Dumfries is highly invested in the long-term sustainability and success of the Market, and appreciates the value that access to locally grown and produced goods provides our citizens. The farmers market operations team will be spearheaded by the Town of Dumfries under the leadership of Tangi Hill. A paid market management team will also play a key role in supporting daily market operations. The Town of Dumfries also contracted Chelsea Roseberry, a farmers market operator with more than a decade of experience managing some of the most successful markets in DC and Northern Virginia, to play a consultation role in the development of the new farmers market program. The Town of Dumfries is working hard to promote the market opening throughout the community with a grand opening ceremony, and is printing plenty of signs, feather flags, and distributing promotional flyers throughout the community. They are also planning various community engagement activities to ensure the market is a centerpiece in the community, and its vendors are successful now and in the future. We look forward to working in collaboration with you to make the Dumfries Farmers Market a successful cornerstone of the community for many years to come.
