Heathsville Farmers Market

-Sponsored by historic Rice's Hotel / Hughlett's Tavern, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit. Third Saturday, April - October. Each market has a different theme. Approx. 40 to 50 vendors at each market, selling produce, oysters, eggs, plants, meats, gourmet peanuts, baked goods, jams and jellies, and quality handcrafts. Runs from 9 am - 1 pm. Take-away food is for sale at the outdoor food concession stand. Or have a leisurely sit-down lunch at the Tavern Café, where all food is tavern-made by the volunteers of the Tavern's Culinary Guild. Other guilds on site and demonstrating include the Tavern's Quilters, Blacksmiths, Spinners & Weavers, and Woodworkers. The Tavern dates back to the late 1700's, and also houses a gift shoppe that sells all-locally made handcrafts and several artisan studios.
